Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (FFVP)Fruits & Veggies
Free fresh fruits and vegetable offered outside of the Breakfast and Lunch meal service, usually in classroom or hallway, during the school day. 

The goals of the program are:

  • introduce an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables
  • encourage children to try new fruits & vegetable that they might not otherwise experience
  • foster healthier school environments
  • promote childhood nutrition education
  • increase interest in & consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce


This program is available to Elementary Schools that operate the National School Lunch Program.  Schools must have a high percentage of students certified as eligible for free and reduced-price meals to be eligible to apply.


Baltimore County Public Schools has 50 FFVP schools for School Year 2023-2024.
